Katha to square feet in Assam: AIRBMP 2022 project scale
1 Katha = 2880 square feet
The November 2022 AIRBMP resettlement framework defines a Katha as 2,880 square feet, with five Kathas per Bigha and twenty Lechas per Katha. Its Phase I project scope includes the Beki, Buridehing and Jiadhal subbasins in the Brahmaputra region.
Calculate using this scaleWhere does this scale apply?
- Match your record to this project-documented scale: 5 Kathas per Bigha, 20 Lechas per Katha.
- Do not apply automatically throughout Assam or to the Barak Valley. MDDS gives conflicting Bigha/Katha values, excluded here.
Match the measurement scale on your registry or Jamabandi. A familiar unit name can represent different areas in different places.
